Medrobotics
Medical device firm Medrobotics has built several generations of flexible robot platforms for minimally invasive surgical procedures in parts of the anatomy difficult or previously impossible to reach from a single access point. The company’s technology provides enhanced visualization and enables an unprecedented level of two-hand dexterity for surgeons utilizing robotics. One of its first products, a snake robot for minimally-invasive cardiac interventions, allows surgeons to perform a single-port intervention in a less invasive manner and can dramatically improve patient recovery without the risks involved with current, more intrusive procedures. Medrobotics is currently working toward commercialization of its device technology next year.
